Tamara was born and raised in San Diego and enjoys the beach, hiking and spending time with her family and her dogs. She has enjoys volunteering at local animal rescues and helping animals find their “fur-ever” home.

Tamara earned her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009 from Cerritos College after having many years of experience in the dental field as a dental assistant. She enjoys her clinical experiences and educating about oral and systemic health. Don’t forget to floss!

Tamara’s journey into Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy began with her own personal and family experiences with orofacial dysfunction. Being tongue tied, she went through OMT to eliminate her oral dysfunction. Upon finishing the program, the spark grew for her to continue with the OMT endeavors. In 2016, Tamara began exploring the field of OMT and with extensive training and education, she became a Certified Specialist in Orofacial Myology (CSOM). In 2017, she opened Facial Physique and  in 2020, she became a Myomentor Therapy Advisor to oversee and guide other professionals in OMT.  Tamara volunteers her time as the Creative Director with Airway Circle, a platform dedicated to educating, connecting and sharing knowledge to both professionals and the public.

Tamara enjoys working with ages 4  plus to improve oral function as it relates to breathing, facial development, and growth. She hopes to build constant awareness within the orofacial community and is a strong advocate in bridging the gap between the medical and dental fields. She is an active member of the National Network of Healthcare Hygienists whose mission is to integrate oral health into medical care.

Selina Preston, CSOM

Selina grew up in Lompoc, California and moved to sunny San Diego to pursue her dental career by graduating from Concorde Career College as a Dental Hygienist. Selina's quest for knowledge then expanded into the realm of orofacial myology. Recognizing its profound impact on her own well-being led her to pursue advanced education and certification. Selina is a Certified Specialist in Orofacial Myology (CSOM), Breathe Institute ambassador, Myomentor, MyoMastermind and a MyoCircle graduate. Throughout her studies she has developed a passion for educating families and is eager to continue to provide services that guide growth and development for children. Selina also specialized in oral habits cessation programs.

In 2020, Selina embraced motherhood with the arrival of her first child, an experience that illuminated the significance of early orofacial dysfunction detection in newborns. This firsthand encounter reinforced her belief in the pivotal role of a multidisciplinary collaboration in promoting optimal feeding and developmental outcomes beginning in infancy.

As an Airway Circle State leader, Selina is dedicated to bridging the gap between the medical and dental domains and is actively engaging in community initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness and fostering synergy between these disciplines.
